ΕΝΑ ΘΕΡΙΝΟ ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ ΓΙΑ ΣΤΕΛΕΧΗ ΤΗΣ ΑΥΤΟΚΕΦΑΛΗΣ ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑΣ ΤΗΣ ΟΥΚΡΑΝΙΑΣ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΚΑΔΗΜΙΑ ΘΕΟΛΟΓΙΚΩΝ ΣΠΟΥΔΩΝ ΒΟΛΟΥ

Κατά το διάστημα από 30 Ιουνίου έως 14 Ιουλίου 2019 η Ακαδημία Θεολογικών Σπουδών Βόλου υλοποίησε πρόγραμμα επιμόρφωσης (Θερινό Πανεπιστήμιο) κληρικών και λαϊκών της εν Ουκρανία Αυτοκέφαλης Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας, η σύσταση της οποίας σηματοδοτεί μία νέα εποχή στη σύγχρονη ιστορία της φίλης, όσο και πολύπαθης αυτής χώρας, αλλά και της παγκόσμιας Ορθοδοξίας. Η απόφαση της Αυτού Θειοτάτης Παναγιότητος, του Οικουμενικού Πατριάρχου κ. κ. Βαρθολομαίου Α΄ και της Αγίας και Ιεράς Συνόδου του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου οδήγησε στη θεραπεία ενός σχίσματος που στερούσε εκατομμύρια πιστών από την κοινωνία με την παγκόσμια Ορθοδοξία. Η μακροχρόνια εκκλησιαστική ανωμαλία και η επί δεκαετίες απομόνωση δημιούργησαν συνθήκες οι οποίες καθιστούν πρόδηλη την ανάγκη επιμόρφωσης του κλήρου και των θεολόγων της νέας Εκκλησίας.

Your All-Holiness! 

On behalf of his Beatitude, the Metropolitan of Kyiv Epiphanius, as well as VOTA (Volyn Orthodox Theological Academy), KOTA (Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy) and Fedkovych Chernivtsi University, we sincerely thank for your holy blessing and the opportunity to visit Volos Academy and to take part in the summer school for the clergy and students. 

The program was organized in such a competent, diverse and useful way that we were able to plunge into the wonderful and original world of Greek Orthodox theology. We extraordinary pleasure from the lectures of leading contemporary theologians, especially it is worth mentioning the metropolitan John Zizioulas, whose theological works are translated into Ukrainian and enjoy insane popularity in our homeland. For most of us, a personal meeting with him is a real spiritual feast. Visiting churches, monasteries, holy places and museums allowed us to dive deeper into the Byzantine cultural tradition. It was also extremely valuable to receive lessons of Modern Greek that in the near future will open the door of free communication and familiarizing with the original sources of patristic haritage and works of modern theologians. It is extremely important that we were able to get not only theoretical knowledge, but in fact feel the particular love, concern and care from the Metropolitan of Dimitriad Inhatia, Dr. Pantellis and the entire staff of the Volos Academy. This is a true witness of our unity in Christ. On behalf of the devout and grateful Ukrainian people, accept, Your All-Holiness, prayerful wishes of good health, encourage, inspire, strengthening grace of the Holy Spirit and God-given wisdom for your patriarchal service on the Constantinople's Throne. 

Your name now and forever has entered into the history of our country and has an imprint in the depths of bottom heart.
